Chinese Zephyr teases new RTX 3080 12GB and GeForce RTX 4070/4080 series
Zephyr, a recent entrant in the GPU industry, made headlines just a few weeks ago (a bit with our help) when they unveiled the first RTX 3060 GPU featuring a pink PCB. However, the company’s journey doesn’t end there. Zephyr has since released multiple models of RTX 3070 and 3080 GPUs, and they are now gearing up to announce their upcoming RTX 40 series cards.
In the latest news, Zephyr has showcased their new RTX 3080 12GB model on social media. This updated version is part of their Spindrift series and boasts improvements such as an upgraded power delivery system with two additional phases and the use of new thermal pads, which will also be employed in the upcoming RTX 40 models.

Furthermore, Zephyr has confirmed that they will soon be introducing the RTX 4070 (Ti) and 4080 models, with early reveals of the PCB design already made public. An interesting addition to the RTX 40 series is the inclusion of a small screen, which has not been shown yet. The company has confirmed that RTX 4070 and 4070 Ti will be released first, with RTX 4080 coming later. The cooling solution has now entered a testing phase.

In response to questions regarding potential price changes, Zephyr has indicated that the prices of AMD’s new products are not expected to change significantly, and the supply of RTX 4070 (Ti) series is unlikely to see a substantial boost. This suggests that any further price adjustments may be slow if they occur at all. However, it remains unclear whether Zephyr’s response is related to the RX 7900 series from AMD or the upcoming RX 7800 XT, as Zephyr does not manufacture Radeon GPU series.
Zephyr claims that their RTX 3080 12GB card will be launched next week on JD, while RTX 40 GPU series showcase should be expected a bit later.
