XFX graphics cards with AMD Navi 32 GPU announced
The company announced three new cards.
XFX has narrowed down its product range to just two series, both falling under the Speedster GPU lineup: MERC and QICK. While these two series may share a striking resemblance, there are notable distinctions between them. Firstly, the MERC series is positioned as the top of the line, offering gamers the full spectrum of features that XFX intends to deliver. In contrast, the QICK series is tailored for mainstream gamers who may not require the full suite of features.
Visually, both series boast an identical triple-fan design featuring 13 blades and the anticipated dual-BIOS functionality. The most apparent distinguishing factor between XFX MERC and QICK is the backplate design, with the former sporting a ridged backplate while the latter adopts a more streamlined appearance. Additionally, the MERC GPU features an XFX LED logo, whereas the QICK lacks any lighting effects.
Now, delving into the Radeon RX 7800/7700 series by XFX, we find three models:
- XFX Radeon RX 7800 XT QICK 319 Core Edition (RX-78TQICKF9)
- XFX Radeon RX 7800 XT MERC 319 Black Edition (RX-78TMERCB9)
- XFX Radeon RX 7700 XT QICK 319 Black Edition (RX-77TQICKB9)
At this stage, XFX has not disclosed the full specifications for any of these models, including clock speeds or power settings. As previously mentioned, each model boasts three fans and occupies either a 2.5-slot (QICK) or 2.75-slot (MERC) configuration. XFX has, however, confirmed that the MERC series will incorporate a vapor chamber design.
In terms of GPU specifications, the RX 7800 XT offers 60 Compute Units and 16GB of GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit interface, while the RX 7700 XT features 54 CUs and 12GB of GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit interface.
Both of these models are slated for release on September 6th. It is presumed that the QICK models will debut at their manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $499 and $449, respectively, while the MERC series may command a slightly higher price point.
