Steam Deck now available for less than $360
The Steam Deck promotion returns, the handheld console is now even cheaper.
Back in March, Steam has lowered the price for its Deck gaming consoles by 10% across the stack. As we know, there are three models of this handheld gaming PC featuring different storage options. Gamers often opt for the cheapest variant with an intention of upgrading the storage, which is more cost effective but also means that the warranty may be voided.
Nevertheless, the 64GB version is currently retailing at $359 ($399 MSRP) which is a 10% discount. Furthermore, Steam has lowered the price on 256GB by 15% and 512GB by 20%. The current price of $519 is a lot cheaper than in March ($584), so that money can now be spent elsewhere, most likely on accessories since there are so many to choose.

Steam Deck may require a permanent discount soon, though. The recently launched ASUS ROG Ally at $699 might be a more compelling device to gamers overall. Furthermore, ASUS is still to launch a cheaper version at $599 in the next quarter, which will almost certainly impact Deck sales. The ASUS console offers newer AMD CPU and GPU architectures and a better screen, the product is also lighter. However, the ASUS device relies on the Windows operating system, which is still not a perfect fit for such a device, so native SteamOS integration may give better results and more streamline experience.
The current Steam Summer Sale will end on July 13th.
