GeForce RTX 3070 now below MSRP
Since its debut, the RTX 3070 and 3060 Ti graphics cards were among the most popular GPUs in the NVIDIA lineup. The RTX 3070, in particular, was one of few GPUs to have avoided any type of price cut since its launch in late 2020 (that was exactly two and half years ago).
The good news is that this trend has finally changed. Gamers in Germany can now find the card listed for 449 EUR, which is 50 EUR cheaper than the original MSRP of 499 EUR (also 499 USD).

This was reported by 3DCenter who prepared a lengthy overview of the current Germany GPU market. It lists all modern and last-gen GPUs, including RTX 30, RTX 40, RX 6000, RX 7000 and, of course, Arc A-series. The RTX 3070 is now occupying the space between Radeon RX 6750XT and RX 6800 non-XT SKUs, both equipped with more memory than RTX 3070.

A quick check on the US market confirms that popular brands are now sold at $499. Prices below this level belong to less popular Chinese brands and their clones. However, the point still stands, the 3070 has now dropped below MSRP.

The price change is a result of both: the introduction of the next-gen RTX 4070 SKU, and in the case of the EU market, lower US Dollar exchange rates. The currency also affected the RTX 4090 Founder Edition price today, which dropped 9% below its original MSRP at NVIDIA official store.
