TACHYS confirms its new Vortex 15 laptop features AMD Cezanne APU and NVIDIA Ampere GPU
Tachys, a company that we have not heard of before is currently advertising a new gaming laptop packing unreleased hardware from both AMD and NVIDIA. The device has been spotted by My Laptop Guide.
The laptop is equipped with AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor based on Cezanne APU (Zen3 core design) alongside NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Max-P graphics card. This might be the first laptop confirmed to offer such a variant of Ampere GPU.
The device is clearly based on an ODM design and there is a good chance we will be seeing more brands offering the exact same laptop only under a different name. The company has already listed the most important specifications of its new Vortex 15 laptop:
Tachys Vortex 15 is a 15.6-inch laptop with an ‘IPS-level’ panel offering 72% of NTSC color gamut coverage and up to 144 Hz. Additionally, it comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory of unknown frequency and 1TB of M.2 NVMe storage. The company clearly states that their laptop has PCIe 3.0 storage, meaning we still have no confirmation whether Cezanne APUs have PCIe 4.0 gen support.
The company claims that the laptop will be officially announced at CES 2021. The product is already listed at 1099,99 USD. Do note, however, that the company’s website looks more like a free HTML template rather than a gaming laptop manufacturer’s website, so you may want to wait for a more credible brand to offer this product design.
