Shader pre-caching, a feature most of you may remember from Call of Duty series, has been released in a new update for supported OpenGL and Vulkan games with the latest Steam client.
This feature will automatically preload shaders for specific video cards. This should theoretically improve the experience for most users by reducing load times and stuttering.
However, for graphics cards reviewers this feature may be problematic, because they must ensure it is disabled during video card comparisons.
