Cheaper NITRO from Sapphire

Sapphire introduced a cheaper version of the NITRO graphics card based on Radeon RX 7900 XT SKU.

Sapphire China has introduced a new card this weekend is called “RX7900XT 20G Ultra Platinum L”. This is obviously a sibling of the RX 7900 XT NITRO+ Vapor-X GPU that we already have on the market for many months, but this card is in essence designed to be cheaper.

The first thing to notice is the lack of secondary RGB strip. The strip that faces the motherboard will not emit any light. The company also confirms that the cheaper NITRO card will not have a vapor chamber; hence it is not called ‘Vapor-X’. Instead, the company opted for a copper base, which is less thermal efficient, but also cheaper to make.

According to the retailer listing, the clock speeds were affected. Instead of 2560 MHz boost from NITRO+ Vapor-X, this NITRO has 2450 MHz boost, so the same specs as RX 7900 XT PULSE. The card retains the same board design with three 8-pin power connectors, and it should still support three BIOS settings as well.

Sapphire priced the new NITRO card at 6299 RMB (~898 USD), which is 500 RMB cheaper than the Vapor-X edition. This is definitely not the lowest price for RX 7900 XT in China, but still lower than the official AMD MSRP for this card (7399 RMB).
