PowerColor leaks its own Radeon RX 6700 Fighter
The non-XT variant confirmed with 6GB memory.
The packaging design for the upcoming non-XT variant from the Radeon RX 6700 series has been leaked by PowerColor. TechPowerUP reports that the manufacturer has inadvertently released press shots of the RX 6700 Fighter model ahead of its official introduction.
The graphics card’s packaging confirms that the model is to compare in the 1440p gaming market, just as the RX 6700 XT that was officially introduced last week. More importantly, the packaging also confirms that the card will ship with 6GB GDDR6 memory, a reduction from the XT variant. This comes as surprise because only two weeks ago, the EEC leak with ASUS featured a 12GB variant of the same SKU. What is also possible is that there are actually two variants of the same SKU, which would have actually made a lot of sense.
PowerColor RX 6700 Fighter is an entry-level model, also sold to TUL partners and subsidiaries, such as Japanese Kurotoshikou or Chinese Dataland. The graphics card appears to use the same cooling solution as the XT variant, which means that the card is basically using a cut-down Navi 22 GPU as well as halved memory capacity.
AMD has so far not revealed when should we expect the RX 6700 non-XT model, neither have any leaks indicated a possible date.
