RTX 4090 Laptop GPU faster than RTX 3090 Ti Desktop GPU

Just not anywhere close to desktop RTX 4090.

Razer Blade 18 comes equipped with Intel latest 13th Gen HX and NVIDIA RTX 4090 parts. As of now, this is the best gaming hardware one can get in a laptop, but this also comes at a hefty price. Needless to say, where form factor limits performance, there will always be people who will get the best and most efficient parts they can no matter the cost.

Redditor Kelzs was one of such enthusiasts, who opted for $4,500 worth Razer Blade 18 spec with RTX 4090. This is literally the best Razer laptop there is, but this being a HX-powered laptop, it means users can adjust performance should they want to.

Razer Synapse software allows users to change power profiles, while MSI Afterburner has unlocked overclocking even for laptop GPUs. This combined with undervolting done through Intel XTU and disabled integrated GPU in BIOS gives the dedicated GPU headroom to reach the highest performance possible.

In such configuration and settings, the RTX 4090 Laptop GPU with NVIDIA AD103 GPU managed to outperform RTX 3090 Ti desktop GPU, the flagship desktop model from last-gen series by 2.7%. This was confirmed with a screenshot from 3DMark TimeSpy with a score of 22339 graphics points. That’s also 72% faster than last-gen flagship, the RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU.

Still, even with overclocking this score is much lower than desktop RTX 4090, which is 61% faster.
