A770 & A730M: Intel ACM-G10 Mobile GPU performance according to Intel
Tom’s Hardware published Intel’s official performance figures for mobile Arc Alchemist GPUs.
The Arc A7 series may not be available yet, but Intel is finally changing its course when it comes to sharing benchmark data. The company provided official gaming performance figures for its A770M and A730M GPUs, both based on the bigger Alchemist ACM-G10 GPU. The data was collected from the official Reviewer’s Guide, seemingly only available to Chinese reviewers, however Tom’s Hardware did not publish the original document, so we cannot confirm if that’s really the case.
Probably the most important information is that A770M targets RTX 3060 Laptop GPU and A730M targets RTX 3050 Ti SKU. Those are mid-range solutions from NVIDIA RTX 30 “Ampere” product stack. There is no sign of RTX 3070 in this comparison, not to mention RTX 3080 or RTX 3080 Ti. This probably means that contrary to the rumors, Intel has no intention to compete with RTX 3070 series.
Importantly, figures posted in the Guide represent a variety of laptop configurations. Unfortunately Intel did not provide all the necessary data, such as the TGP targets of each GPU. What is clear is that neither RTX 3050 Ti nor RTX 3060 were using the best TGP (Max-P) variants. Meanwhile, both Arc GPUs operate at higher TGP targets by default, but those were not confirmed by Intel for this particular test either:
- Intel Arc A730M (TGP 80 to 120W): Core i7-12700H, 16GB of DDR5-4800
- Intel Arc A770M (TGP 120 to 150W): Core i9-12900HK, 16GB of DDR5-4800
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti (TGP 60W) (ROG Zephyrus M16): Core i7-11800H, 16GB of DDR4-3200
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (TGP 85W) (MSI Pulse GL66): Core i9-12900HK, DDR5-4800
According to this data, A730M would be 13% faster on average than RTX 3050 Ti and A770M would perform 12% better than RTX 3060. Those are geometric means based on 17 game test, most at Ultra and High settings. Intel chose 1920×1080 resolution for this comparison.
Hopefully, Intel will confirm the exact GPU configurations for each laptop in this test, or even better, allow independent reviewers from around the world to verify those claims on their own. Thus far only the A730M laptops were introduced exclusively to Chinese gamers, while A770M is not available anywhere yet.
