Here’s the first look at NVIDIA Ampere architecture.

NVIDIA Tesla A100

We have received a tip with the picture of the upcoming Tesla A100 SMX module, featuring GA100 GPU with six HBM2(e) stacks. No further details were shared with the picture.

Today NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang will announce Tesla A100 during his GTC 2020 keynote. He is expected to talk about AI, high-performance computing, data science, robotics, and of course graphics.

The SMX module has changed compared to Tesla V100 (Volta), the holes do not align with the previous generation. Thus, this could be the SMX Gen 4 module we are looking at. The die appears to be slightly bigger than GV100, estimated at 820-840 mm2.

NVIDIA Ampere is expected to launch as datacenter GPU, focused on Tesla series, which are compute oriented.
