NVIDIA has a large supply GeForce RTX 3050 coming?
Chinese media outlets are now sharing a rumor that NVIDIA has a large stock of RTX 3050 being distributed to board partners.
The rumor was first shared by Board Channels and has since been reported by other news outlets. It is said that NVIDIA is offering a larger supply of RTX 3050 cards than RTX 3060/3060Ti. The report does not explicitly say if that refers to the current supply or rather the supply for the launch day, although it does mention ‘the first batch’.
The card launches on January 27th, just days before the Chinese New Year (February 1st). It is said that a large number of orders will not be fulfilled until after the Spring Festival ends (give or take a week or two).

The RTX 3050 is using a cut-down GA106 GPU with 2560 CUDA cores. This translates to nearly 1/3 of the cores being disabled. NVIDIA’s first RTX model from the XX50 series will be equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit bus. It is therefore looking more attractive than 50 USD cheaper Radeon RX 6500XT which comes with a 4GB and 64-bit memory bus. The latter already received official MSRP from board partners at 300+ EUR.
