NVIDIA is releasing a security patch for its Kepler series launched in 2012.
Due to newly discovered vulnerabilities, NVIDIA releases a security patch for its GPU drivers.
NVIDIA has stopped providing regular Game Ready updates for its GeForce GTX 600 and GTX 700 series with the release of 470 series driver. But today, NVIDIA made an exception by releasing a security patch as 473.47 driver.
The company informs that a number of potential vulnerabilities were discovered that may lead to denial of service, information disclosure or data tampering. The CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) lists three security issues with a level higher than 7 (in 10 point scale).
The CVE IDs span across three branches of NVIDIA GPU drivers: R510, R470 and R450. The latest GeForce Game Ready driver already has the security update, so there is no need to update it manually.
You can download the new Kepler driver here. For newer GPUs, there is a 517.77 WHQL driver.
