It appears that NVIDIA problems with the Ampere launch have not yet ended.

NVIDIA limits GeForce RTX 3080/3090 FE sales to BestBuy

NVIDIA admits that its online store needs improvement and changes. As a result, for now, the sales of Founders Edition models will be limited to ‘other partners’.

In the United States, BestBuy will take orders (or shall we say preorders) for GeForce RTX 3080 and 3090 Founders Edition. This limited edition is usually exclusive to the NVIDIA store but it will now be exclusive to other partners as well. NVIDIA has not specified what other partners than BestBuy will take orders for these cards. Of course, this information only affects people who are interested in Founders Edition models. Custom boards will continue to be offered through other channels as they were.

NVIDIA has not specified how customers in Europe are supposed to buy Founders Edition at this time, so it would seem it’s not currently possible.

The manufacturer promises to increase availability in the coming weeks as the manufacturer and its board partners are working to increase the supply of GeForce RTX 30 series.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080/3090 are very hard to buy. Multiple retailers have now implemented queues systems and it does not seem they are prepared to take more preorders for cards they can’t even ship.

NVIDIA employee has provided an update on official forums.

[email protected]:

We have heard your feedback regarding the NVIDIA online store and are working to improve the experience.

In the meantime, we will be selling our GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Founders Edition through other partners. In the US, you can shop for Founders Edition at Best Buy – GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090 . In Europe, we continue to review Founders Edition fulfillment options.

Founders Edition units are limited, and more will be available in the coming weeks alongside an increasing supply of boards from our global board partners.
