GeForce RTX 4080 below MSRP, but only by €20 and only for a limited time
Probably no reason to get excited just yet, but a good sign nonetheless.
PCGamesHardware report that GeForce RTX 4080 from Gainward already being offered for price lower than MSRP. The original price of €1,539 has been lowered to €1,449 which means this card now selling below German RTX 4080 MSRP of €1,469 (it was a launch price for Founders Edition and some custom models).
Importantly, the RTX 4080 at MSRP is just as impossible to find these days as it possible to convince buyers to get one. The RTX 4080 is simply not a good buy and has already been outsold by even pricier RTX 4090 GPUs.

The card in question is Gainward Phantom (not the Golden Sample). This is the reference-clocked model but with Gainward’s custom cooling solution. It has been on a steady price drop since it made a debut earlier this month.

Alternate’s offer is just a single time-limited deal, but hopefully is a start. This particular deal is still not very popular, the card is not sold out yet, but this is merely €20 discount after all. But for RTX 4080 to be a good deal, NVIDIA has to act quickly. The AMD Radeon RX 7900 series are literally two weeks away, which will put another nail in the 4080 coffin at this price.
