HWiNFO changelog mentions RTX 4080 SUPER

RTX 4080 SUPER rumors gain momentum.

There have been increasing speculations about the NVIDIA RTX 40 SUPER series in the past few weeks. NVIDIA seems to be preparing something, but the exact number and timing of the new cards are still unclear. However, some clues about the new cards have appeared on public websites, which might indicate a future announcement.

The developer of HWiNFO did not reveal the source of this update. However, it is known that some companies that make monitoring software gather anonymous data that is later used to support new hardware. This update might be related to the recently discovered Device ID in the public repository, which could give HWiNFO devs a preliminary idea of what ID corresponds to this model. However, neither PCI ID repository nor HWiNFO confirm that this is the final and confirmed ID. In fact, there is no mention of support, just that it was added to the software.

Therefore, we should not get too excited just because HWiNFO has something in the changelog. It does not mean that the name and the specs of the card are already decided. On the contrary, even the most reliable leakers have different opinions on the specs, and none of our sources confirm them either. However, it is clear that NVIDIA is working on something at their HQ, which could result in a new SKU.

The RTX 4080 SUPER rumors suggest that the card could have either AD102 or AD103 GPU, but only one source has mentioned the former option. It seems more probable that the card will have full AD103 specs, and faster memory as an upgrade. This model should not be expected anytime soon though, with some sources believing it is being considered for early 2024 release.
