Desktop and mobile RTX 4060 to feature full AD107 GPU

According to hardware leaker Kopite7kimi, NVIDIA might use its smallest Ada Lovelace GPU for the XX60 desktop class.

NVIDIA might use its smallest Ada Lovelace GPU not only for the mobile GPU, but also into desktop variant, claims Kopite. The desktop version would use the same AD107 GPU as mobile equivalent with full 3072 CUDA cores available. This means that both RTX 4060 Desktop and RTX 4060 Laptop GPUs get full implementation of this graphics processor.

Kopite further claims that RTX 4060 would feature 8GB GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit memory bus. This means that the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 would have the same memory bandwidth of 288 GB/s. In fact, this means that RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 SKUs will differ in memory configuration, but the Ti and non-Ti models from each class would share the memory specs.

The typical power consumption (most likely TDP) is estimated at 115W, which is actually the maximum spec for mobile GPU variant as well. That said, desktop and mobile RTX 4060 will have a lot more in common than we typically see in NVIDIA GPU portfolio.

Neither RTX 4060 Ti nor RTX 4060 now have a release date, but given that we already have first specs, we are likely 1–2 months away from getting more detailed information directly from NVIDIA. One should note that mobile RTX 4060 is coming out next week, so there is technically nothing stopping NVIDIA from releasing desktop GPU at the same time, nothing other than remaining inventory of current gen RTX 3060 series.
