NVIDIA DLSS3 getting a new “G” model
Unreal Engine will receive a new NVIDIA DLSS plugin (Deep Learning Super Sampling) soon. This version of the plugin is said to enable a new DLSS preset that has not been mentioned by NVIDIA before.
This is a reminder that DLSS modes (Ultra Performance / Quality etc.) are not the same thing as presets. The latter should be considered a fine-tuning option for developers seeking the best optimization for their games. With presets, DLSS will adapt to the content of the game, scaling scenarios, the pace of the game or lack of motion vectors in some areas.

Modders have already taken advantage of the presets option, and there are tools that can force either profile, regardless of what the developer has chosen. The DLSS3 Preset F was generally considered to offer the best quality and minimal ghosting.
Doing a livestream covering an updated DLSS plugin for Unreal Engine, the presenter showed that the editor will include a new profile called “G”. There has been no mention of this preset in the UE5 plugin documentation yet, so it is definitely new. Currently, it is unclear what this profile would improve or focus on, but it is certainly the first time it has been mentioned.

The new DLSS plugin should be released at any day now, so it is likely that the G preset will be explained in detail soon.
