NVIDIA confirms GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB costs $399, 16GB at $499 and RTX 4060 launches in July

NVIDIA officially announces its mid-range RTX 40 stack featuring three graphics cards.

The RTX 4060 Ti SKU will launch in two variants, either with 8GB or 16GB VRAM. That said, NVIDIA’s RTX 4060 mid-range segment will actually be getting more memory than RTX 4070 series (12GB).

According to official data, the RTX 4060 Ti series will provide up to 22 TFLOPS of FP32 single precision compute performance, while RTX 4060 non-Ti shader performance should be around 15 TFLOPS. NVIDIA is comparing the data with RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3060 series that offer 16 TFLOPS and 13 TFLOPS respectively.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti has a TDP of 160W for both models (not 165W as we mistakenly reported), while the average power consumption should be around 140W during gaming.  The RTX 4060 will launch with 115W TDP while a typical gaming session should close in 110W power envelope.

In terms of specs, it is worth noting that RTX 4060 Ti has 18 Gbps GDDR6 128-bit memory, while RTX 4060 non-Ti gets 17 Gbps chips. This means that the non-Ti variant will have a lower maximum bandwidth of 272 GB/s compared to 288 GB/s on the Ti series.

Each RTX 4060 GPU gets its own performance slide, which shows massive uplift with DLSS3 (Frame Generation). However, gamers should definitely look at games without DLSS3 first, to get a better understanding where RTX 4060 SKUs stand out compared to last-gen series.

NVIDIA confirmed the GeForce RTX 4060 non-Ti will cost $299, which will become the cheapest Ada desktop card to launch thus far. Both the RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti 16GB SKUs are to be launched in July.
