Updated MSI Titan GT77 with Intel HX, GeForce RTX 40 and 4K 144Hz panel

According to Notebookcheck, MSI is preparing a new version of their TITAN laptop.

MSI is set to launch an updated version of their GT77 enthusiast laptop as early as January next year. As the product name suggests (GT77) the updated version will see minimal if any changes to the chassis. However, the internals will be much improved.

The 2023 TITAN GT77 will get 4K 144Hz Mini-LED panel. This is an upgrade from the current model featuring 4K 120Hz display. The new version will not only have higher refresh rate, but it will also comply with DisplayHDR1000 standard, have 100 DCI-P3 coverage and have factory color calibration.

As pointed out by Notebookcheck, MSI has resurrected their TITAN series this year with Intel launching Alder Lake-HX CPUs. Those are desktop-class series featuring up to 16 cores, just as many as desktop counterparts. However, Intel is soon to launch its new 13th Gen Core series, including even faster HX series. Those are most likely to feature up to 24-cores (8P+16E cores).

The leaked slides only mention latest Intel HX series and “next-gen GeForce graphics”, but this is easy to guess. Alongside Intel new CPUs, NVIDIA will be introducing their GeForce RTX 40 Mobile series. The ultra-high-end TITAN laptop which already supports up to 250W CPU+GPU configurations, should be more than capable to support upcoming GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU.

MSI is said to announce their new GT77 TITAN at CES 2023 next year. The slides that leaked are most likely from an early presentation.
