Surprisingly, this release came without any official announcement, catching our attention when it was discovered by one of our readers. As of now, this intriguing design is exclusively available in the Chinese market.
The blower-type design is a departure from the prevalent axial fan design commonly used by nearly all RTX 4090 cards on the market. However, MSI AERO S is not an exception at this point, and we have even seen new launches last month.

What is common among blower RTX 40 designs is minimal branding, possibly to avoid unnecessary attention from NVIDIA. As we have already seen with RTX 30 series, NVIDIA was rather unwelcoming to such designs. The introduction of cheaper GeForce RTX cards featuring blower designs may serve as a potential threat to its workstation RTX models. Those cards will not offer the same capabilities as the official RTX ADA professional series, yet there are many compute intensive workloads that can be just as easily executed on smaller memory and with limited drivers.

The card is equipped with an AD102-300 GPU featuring 16384 CUDA cores, paired with 24GB of GDDR6X memory. Even though MSI did not provide official specifications, it is highly probable that this card will be restricted to a TDP of 450W, a common characteristic of blower RTX 4090 models. The majority of these cards feature 3×8-pin to 12VPHWR 450W power adapters, ensuring that no extra juice will be available for extended work sessions.
Does anyone know about this rtx4090 with blower cooler from msi? The model on the box is “GeForce RTX 4090 AERO S 24G”, and the SN code indicates that this graphics card was manufactured in April 2023. I couldn’t find any information about this card on the internet.🤔 pic.twitter.com/mvHIrf3ROj
