MSI outs GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GAMING Z with 16 Gbps GDDR6 memory

Published: Apr 16th 2020, 16:05 GMT   Comments

MSI GAMING Z TRIO is the first graphics card with 16 Gbps memory

We have already seen graphics card touching high memory speeds such as 1850 MHz / 14.8 Gbps (ASUS ROG MATRIX) or NVIDIA’s own GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER with 1936 MHz / 15.5 Gbps modules. However, the MSI GAMING Z TRIO is the first and only graphics card to feature 16 Gbps modules.

It’s worth noting that MSI did not reveal whether the card features factory-overclocked modules or industry’s first 16 Gbps GDDR6 chips.

Based on the specs and quick visual inspection there are no changes in design compared to the GAMING X TRIO.

What’s interesting about GAMING Z TRIO is the fact that even the MSI LIGHTING Z does not feature 16 Gbps modules. Although the latter is clocked 15 MHz higher.
