MSI launches RTX 3060 Ti SUPER 3X with GDDR6X memory

MSI’s SUPER, not NVIDIA’s.

Let’s get something clear: no, NVIDIA did not just launch a GeForce RTX 3060 TI SUPER, but a new version of RTX 3060 Ti with GDDR6X memory last year. What happened today is MSI has finally launched a custom model based on this SKU by calling it ‘SUPER 3X’.

The card is based on the RTX 3070 SUPRIM design. We can still see the SUPRIM logo on the backplate, so it is clear that MSI is reusing some leftover coolers for this model.

The SUPER 3X is an awkward choice for a name for sure, but it probably would have made more sense if this was NVIDIA’s SKU name, which is not. Customers looking at this card will also see it is listed with 8GD6X OC or 8GB GDDR6X memory, which directly implies this is a 3060 Ti model from 2022.

The GPU specs are identical to what MSI already offers with the GAMING X TRIO design, which is 1845 MHz boost clock and 265W TDP. Both cards require dual 8-pin power connectors, and both should be considered premium in the MSI RTX 3060 Ti lineup.

The card is now listed on some regional MSI pages, which either means that the card will see limited launch or someone simply caught the card early before global release.
