Intel Arc A380 with 6GB memory confirmed by MSI

MSI is now listing its upcoming desktop gaming system based on Intel Alder Lake platform also equipped with Arc graphics.

The listing appeared on the JD platform, which is a large Chinese retailer. Intel previously confirmed that Intel Arc will see an exclusive launch in China through local OEM partners. This is the first known listing with Intel Arc desktop GPU.

Although it is listed as preorder, there is no pricing or shipping information available at the time of writing. What the company is confirming are the specs of each PC configuration and, for the first time, the memory config of the Arc A380 graphics card.

According to MSI this graphics card will get 6 GB GDDR6 memory. This means that desktop models based on this Alchemist GPU will indeed utilize the full 96-bit memory bus, which is not the case with mobile variants (limited to 4GB/64-bit). The Arc A380 should feature full ACM-G11 GPU with 8 Xe-Cores.

The company is not stating who is the manufacturer of the graphics card, but given the previous rumors, this should be the card designed by MSI themselves. In fact, this model is listed with ‘OC’ meaning it is factory-overclocked out of the box (or in this case – from the chassis).

The desktop PC is available with various configurations, from Core i3-12100F CPU to i7-12700KF. What they all have in common is Arc A380 6GB graphics card and relatively low-wattage power supply: either 550W or 650W.

MSI is providing some basic information on the graphics card performance at 1080p resolution in e-sports titles, ranging from 85 to 200 FPS depending on the game.
