AMD Ryzen 8000 in a high-end Windows 11 tablet
The Minisforum V3, an upcoming tablet, is set to be powered by the AMD Ryzen 8000 CPU, known internally as Hawk Point. This information, originally not intended for public release, but was included in a previous press statement by Minisforum. The device will run on the Windows operating system and will belong to the 3-in-1 product category, akin to the Microsoft Surface Duo.
This system can function as a tablet independently, and with the addition of a keyboard, it transforms into a notebook. A third option allows it to act as an external monitor. The company has confirmed that the USB Type-C input can serve as a display for smartphones, including the latest Apple iPhone.
Notably, the display is a key highlight of this system, featuring a sizable 14-inch screen with a 2.5K resolution, likely at 2560×1600. What sets it apart is the high refresh rate panel, boasting a 165Hz rate. This part is showcased in a newly shared video on X platform:

Regarding the CPU, a prior press announcement has verified that it utilizes the AMD Hawk Point APU, operating within a power range of 22 to 28 watts. To reiterate, this architecture represents a refinement of the Phoenix architecture, incorporating the AMD Zen4 architecture with integrated RDNA3 graphics. This APU is known for its potency and is commonly found in handheld gaming consoles such as the ROG Ally and Legion Go. However, it’s worth noting that this system employs the standard APU variant, rather than the Ryzen Z1 gaming version.
For those concerned about a large screen size, the company confirmed to be working on a smaller 7 to 8 inch device. The system is expected to launch early next year with the arrival of AMD’s new Ryzen 8000 series, which Hawk Point is supposedly part of.
