The Legion 9i stands out as a sleek gaming laptop featuring high-end hardware, including the Intel Core i9-13980HX processor and a GeForce RTX 4090 16GB graphics card – currently the most powerful combination available in the laptop market. To maintain its slim 18.9 mm profile, Lenovo has incorporated an innovative cooling solution, one that relies on water cooling.
According to Lenovo, the Legion 9i will feature the world’s thinnest water cooling system on the market. During the official unveiling, a Lenovo representative showcased a slide outlining that this cooling mechanism only activates once the system reaches a temperature of 84°C. This intelligent design eliminates the need for a liquid pump to run when the laptop is idle or not being used for gaming.

Moreover, this advanced cooling solution incorporates three fans, yet there’s enough space within the chassis to accommodate two M.2 2280 SSDs and two DDR5 DIMM slots (some configurations will come equipped with 2x32GB DDR5-5600 memory). Despite the densely packed chassis, the laptop still houses a 4-cell 99.9 Wh battery.
In terms of the display, Lenovo has opted for a 16.3-inch 2K IPS screen with a variable refresh rate, capable of reaching up to 165 Hz. Earlier info suggested it is a Mini-LED display. Officially dubbed the “PureSight Gaming” display, the laptop’s lid is decorated with a distinctive carbon material cover, adding to its overall appeal.
