Samsung Galaxy Book 4 series to feature Intel Core 100 series
A mix of Raptor Lake Refresh and Meteor Lake chips, paired with Intel Arc and RTX 40 graphics. Full specs of Samsung’s new Book 4 series were leaked by WindowsReport.
For those wondering about Intel’s plans for the Core 100 series, which are not branded as Ultra, here is your answer. Samsung is now the first company known to employ these new CPUs in their upcoming Book 4 series. These are lightweight (1.26 to 1.86 kg) laptops equipped with power-limited Core-U CPU series. However, not in all cases.
There are five new 5 laptops being prepared for the launch in the coming weeks: the Book 4, Book 4 360, Book 4 360 Pro, Book 4 Pro and Book 4 Ultra. All of which are to employ Intel Core 100 series, but only three models will use an Ultra SKU based on Meteor Lake chip.
Samsung Book 4 series CPU options

According to these specs, Samsung will have one Raptor Lake-U refresh model called Core 5 120U, which is a 5.0 GHz CPU of unknown core/thread configuration. This model has 12 MB Smart Cache as per the listing.
More interesting are Core Ultra 7 155U and Core Ultra 9 185H, both are based on Meteor Lake dies. Unfortunately, the report does not include the core config for any of the models. So, the clock speed of 4.8 GHz and 5.1 GHz, respectively, is just about the only information shared, along with 24MB Smart Cache detail.
According to WindowsReport, the Book 4 Ultra will feature both Core Ultra 9 185H processor and RTX 4070 Laptop GPU graphics. This is the first known system to feature a gaming discrete GPU and Meteor Lake CPU. In other words, this is the first laptop capable of high-fidelity gaming to feature an Intel Core Ultra 100H CPU. That power will be needed to render images on the 2880 x 1800 screen that this system is using.
Interestingly, the spec sheet also mentions that Book 4 Pro 360 and Book 4 Pro will use Intel Arc graphics. Judging from the choice of CPUs, one should assume that these are not discrete GPUs but integrated Xe-LPG architecture into Meteor Lake dies. Therefore, the Book 4 Ultra will remain the only option from Samsung with full discrete GPU.
Samsung is expected to follow Intel by announcing their Book 4 series shortly after the Meteor Lake series launches on December 14th.
