Intel Arc GPU drivers improve more DX11 game experience

While the Arc Alchemist architecture has already demonstrated good performance in contemporary DX12 titles, the older DX11 and DX9 titles that still enjoy popularity had to patiently await Intel’s optimizations. In August, Intel unveiled a significant Arc & IrIs GPU driver release, yielding substantial FPS boosts ranging from 5% to 33% in games like Destiny 2 and Overwatch 2. On average, this GPU driver update resulted in a performance improvement of 12% (on the Core i5-13400F) to 19% (on the Core i9-13900K) CPUs.

Now, this list is expanding to include a new array of beloved games, including Rainbow Six Siege (with a 32% increase), Payday 3 (showcasing a 37% improvement), and Call of Duty Black Ops 3 (experiencing an impressive 88% boost), not to mention Modern Warfare, which sees an astonishing 90% increase in performance. However, the most noteworthy performance enhancement can be observed in Deus Ex Human Revolution, where there is a remarkable 119% improvement in frame rates at 1080p resolution.

The list of DX11 titles mentioned by the drivers includes 17 titles with DX11 graphics API, two DX12 tittles and one with DXR support:

It’s worth noting that Intel’s official blog post dedicated to the new driver doesn’t mention any DX11 improvements. Instead, the post focuses on the Game On program, Intel’s initiative for optimizing games at launch. This program highlights titles like Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Forza Motorsport.
