Intel Panther Lake to feature third generation Xe GPU
Intel engineer spills the beans on future Xe architecture use for integrated solutions.
Last month Intel confirmed it is developing a subvariant of its Xe architecture called LPG. The disintegrated approach to modern processor architecture enables the company to better optimize and verify chiplets for low and high power use, which in this case means integrated and discrete GPU architectures.
Panther Lake is a future Core processor architecture that is expected to follow Lunar Lake, possibly around 2025-2026. Very few details are known about the series, but it looks like we might have just learned what graphics will be incorporated into this new processor series.
According to the LinkedIn profile of one of the Intel GPU engineers, as discovered by @harukaze5719, Intel is planning Xe3-LPG architecture for Panther Lake. This architecture will follow Xe-LPG and Xe2-LPG designed for Meteor Lake and Lunar Lake respectively. Neither has been released yet.

The fact that Intel is planning Arc GPU tiles for its Core series is nothing new, though. The company presented its GPU roadmap last year, confirming that the Arc Tile GPU will be part of the future Lake platforms. What this slide did not say is that Arc GPU tiles for Core series would be ‘late’ by one Xe generation in relation to discrete GPUs.

The CPU roadmap is still quite uncertain right now, with all the rumours about circulating Meteor Lake desktop delays or even cancellation. Nevertheless, it is apparent that Xe architecture is here to stay, and we will see many iterations in the coming years. These architectures will also be used by desktop GPUs but in their HPG variants, such as Battlemage, Celestial and Druid.
