Intel Core Ultra 7 1002H aka Core Ultra 7 165H spotted with 5 GHz clock
During the past week, there were multiple leaks regarding Intel’s upcoming CPU series, Meteor Lake, scheduled for release later this year. Among the new disclosures, it has come to light that Intel intends to introduce a fresh naming convention, potentially naming their forthcoming mobile series as “Core Ultra 100H.” This naming approach represents a departure from the previously encountered 1000H engineering samples.
Nonetheless, there remains a substantial number of these 1000H samples still undergoing testing, both by board partners and Intel itself. The recently surfaced CPU, labeled as Core Ultra 1002H, is not a new processor. It is highly probable that this preproduction sample corresponds to what Intel will market as the Core Ultra 165H.
This CPU is to feature 6 P-Cores and 10 E-Cores (two of which are to be located in the SoC die). The specifications further match the 165H SKU with the boost clock reaching 4.988 GHz (so 5.0 GHz).

Given the distinct nomenclature and its testing on Intel’s reference platform, it’s probable that this CPU represents a qualification sample, often characterized by different naming conventions. While neither 165H nor 1002H may seem ideal, the former appears more fitting as a higher-tier SKU within the upcoming Core Ultra lineup.
In terms of performance, this CPU achieves a score of 2439 points in the single-core Geekbench V6 benchmark, marking it as the highest-scoring among all Meteor Lake CPUs thus far. In terms of multithreaded performance, although we have witnessed superior results, the variance amounts to just 1.4%, well within the margin of error.

For reference, we added Core Ultra 7 1002H to the lineup, although it is most certainly not going to be a retail SKU. Should Core Ultra 7 165H be indeed based on this preproduction sample, one should also expect 3.4 GHz base clock, a bit lower than 155H of 3.8 GHz.
