Intel Alder Lake officially pictured

No more renders, here’s a first look at Intel Alder Lake CPU.

Intel 10nm process technology is finally coming to desktop PCs. On Twitter, Gregory M. Bryant (Executive Vice President, General Manager, Client Computing Group at Intel) posted a photo of an engineer holding two Intel Alder Lake CPUs. This is actually the first official photo of the processors from the 12th Gen Core series, not including the renders that the company had already shown.

The design has not changed much since ES1 (Engineering Sample 1) that we leaked almost a year ago. There are no visible changes from ES2 either, this version has been shipped to partners a few months ago. Those partners have started shifting from ES3 to QS (Qualification Samples) last month.

Intel Alder Lake will be announced on October 28th during the Innovation event. The CPUs are expected to go on sale on the same day, however, retailers cannot ship them till November 4th, which is the official launch date of the series and also its review embargo. It is worth adding though that this date has changed at least 3 times in the past few weeks.
