Core i9-14900KS 6.2 GHz CPU in first systems
A retailer in Israel is said to be offering the first systems with Intel’s unreleased Core i9-14900KS CPU.
Intel is no doubt preparing a KS Special Edition variant of its flagship desktop CPU known as 14900K. These chips are highly binned models designed for the best out-of-the-box clock speeds, primarily targeting enthusiasts and overclockers. The KS models also come with an increased nominal TDP from 125W to 150W. Supposedly, the first listing of such a 14th Gen CPU has recently been discovered.
Now, it looks like the retailer in question is just listing the new CPU without having them in stock. The fact that 14900KS is paired with DDR4-3200 memory and that none of the systems have a dedicated GPU raises an eyebrow. These are not gaming systems, but rather business-oriented machines, and, with the exception of the CPU, none of them could be considered high-end.

But just assuming that this listing is based on real data, this would “confirm” that the i9-14900KS is indeed a 6.2 GHz CPU. The core count is not mentioned, but it would be surprising if this part had a different configuration than the i9-14900K.
Should any of our readers have the opportunity to make a purchase, we encourage them to share in the comments whether the shipped CPU is indeed the 14900KS. However, the likelihood of this being accurate appears quite slim.
In any case, it is highly likely that Intel will release this CPU in the first quarter of the coming year, adhering to the typical launch schedule for these KS variants. Ultimately, the 14900KS CPUs are essentially binned versions of the 14900K processors, and Intel must reserve the stock before they hit retail.
