Intel Core i9-14900K tested in CPU-Z

Intel’s fastest LGA1700 CPU makes its first appearance.

The upcoming Core i9-14900K processor, part of Intel’s Raptor Lake Refresh lineup, is set to maintain the same core count as the existing Core i9-13900K with 24 cores, consisting of 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores. However, there is a notable increase in clock speed, with a boost of 200 MHz.

One significant aspect of this CPU is its 6.0 MHz boost capability, also known as Thermal Velocity Boost (TVB), for its P-Cores. This feature appears to be substantiated by a leaked screenshot showcasing a 14900K engineering sample. Additionally, the leak confirms a 125W TDP (Thermal Design Power) specification for the processor and the necessity of 1.385V voltage to achieve this clock speed.

The Core i9-14900K processor scored 978 points in the single-core CPU-Z test and 18117.5 points in multi-core. If one were to compare this CPU to the Core i9-13900K and i9-12900K, it would appear that the 14900K CPU is 9.7%/8.4% faster than 13900K and 19.4%/59% faster respectively than 12900K. The significant improvement in MT performance compared to the initial LGA1700 Core i9 CPU from the Alder Lake series can be attributed to the doubled E-Core count.
