A new leak has appeared on Ashes of the Singularity website featuring yet unannounced Intel Rocket Lake-S processor.
Does Intel “Rocket Lake-S” Core i7-11700KF CPU have a base clock of 3.6 GHz?
Ashes of the Singularity benchmark database does not provide too many details on the hardware that is listed after each run. It does however confirm what is being tested by the reviewers or PC hardware manufacturers.
The new processor that has just appeared there is Intel’s 11th Gen Core processor, the Core i7-11700KF. According to the listing, this CPU is an octa-core processor with 16-threads enabled. Unfortunately, the listing does not reveal the maximum boost frequency as AotS does not list such a specification. However, the CPU name string features basic information on the base clock, and it appears that the 11700KF CPU will have a 3.6 GHz base clock, which is actually 100 MHz higher than the rumored i9-11900K.
The KF variant means that the CPU has no integrated graphics enabled. The Rocket Lake-S processors feature Gen12 Xe-LP Graphics, so it being disabled is basically removing one of the key features of the processor.
The Core i7-11700 processors will be based on Cypress Cove architecture which is considered a redesign of Intel Ice Lake CPU. The processors codenamed Rocket Lake-S will be compatible with existing 400 series motherboards which already have the LGA1200 socket, although a BIOS upgrade may be necessary. Intel will also launch its 500 series chipset that will fully support the PCI Express Gen4 interface.
Intel is expected to unveil its 11th Gen Core processors at CES 2021 with availability planned around March.
