Intel Alder Lake discounts at Newegg

To make it even clearer, Intel is gearing up to launch a new line of CPUs from the 14th Gen Core series, codenamed Raptor Lake Refresh. Prior to this launch and the anticipated discounts for the 13th Gen series, the company is currently focused on clearing out the remaining stock of the 12th Gen series, known as Alder Lake. The US retailer Newegg is offering some great deals on these CPUs at the moment.

For instance, the 16-core 12900K series is now available for purchase at a range of $325 (KF) to $340 (K), while the 12-core 12700K SKUs have seen their prices drop to $215 (KF) to $240 (K). What’s more, the 10-core 12600K series can now be acquired for an attractive price range of $155 (KF) to $180 (K). This presents a great opportunity for those looking to upgrade their systems or take advantage of these discounted processors.

There is no doubt that there will be a large gap between Raptor Lake Refresh and first gen LGA1700 series, however the gap can be narrowed down by overclocking, or adjusting power limit settings in the motherboard BIOS. After all, the promotion only affects Intel 12th Gen K-series, which are unlocked for overclocking. One thing that cannot be overcome is a variance in core count.

There are plenty of options for Intel LGA1700 series right now, and pricing for motherboards and DDR5 memory has been significantly reduced. It should be possible to build a Core i5-12600KF based system for less than $350 right now with a B760 DDR5 motherboard and 32GB DDR5-6000 memory. Alternatively, retailers like Newegg offer cheaper combos, but where is the fun in that?
