Inno3D RTX 4070 with 8-pin power connector

A picture of the RTX 4070 packaging confirms rumors.

The Inno3D RTX 4070 non-Ti graphics card will indeed have an 8-pin power connector. This is a confirmation of a 1-day-old rumor that some RTX 4070 cards may appear without the new 16-pin (12VHPWR connector). The packaging that was pictured and shared on Chinese social platform clearly mentions the standard 8-pin connector for this card.

Given what we know about the RTX 4070 SKU, this would be the cheaper variant, most likely to be sold near the MSRP (NVIDIA suggested retail price), which is not known yet. It is also one of the first RTX 4070 cards that we know to feature a dual fan cooling solution.

The RTX 4070 GPU is now expected to feature an AD104-25X GPU with 5888 CUDA cores. This model will follow RTX 4070 Ti by using 12GB GDDR6X memory across a 192-bit interface. The main difference apart from lower core count will be much lower TDP, reportedly 225W or 200W depending on the model.

According to our information, the RTX 4070 is set to launch on April 13th, following the announcement and review embargo supposedly lifting on April 12th.
