GIGABYTE outs GeForce RTX 3090 with blower-type fan
It’s here, the first (and so far the only) blower-type design for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Ampere series. This card is special not only because it is first, but also because it is based on GeForce RTX 3090 SKU, the card with a TDP of 350W.
This blower type design is a full custom one. Gigabyte even modified display connectors to dual DisplayPort 1.4a and dual HDMI 2.1, while most samples only offer one HDMI port.
The dual 8-pin power connectors are placed in an unusual vertical way, but since there are no photos of the board itself available, we are not sure if they are soldered or rather installed on cable extenders, like on the Gigabyte GAMING and EAGLE series (pictures available here).
The RTX 3090 TURBO does not carry any OC branding, hence we assume this card is not factory-overclocked, although Gigabyte still lists the specs as ‘to be determined’.
Interestingly this card supports dual-GPU configurations through NVLink (RTX 3090 exclusive feature). But unlike most cards (even Founders Edition), this model is only dual-slot by design, so possibly easier to mount in a case.
No further information is available at the moment, however, the card is already officially listed on the Gigabyte website.
