GIGABYTE Z490, X299X and TRX40 motherboards spotted at EEC

Just a week ago unreleased Gigabyte motherboards have made an appearance at EEC. Today more models have been added, specifically the high-end series that most enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting.

GIGABYTE Z490, X299X and TRX40

Today Gigabyte submitted more unreleased motherboards to Eurasian Economic Commission. New entries include the X299X AORUS and DESIGNARE series, which are designed with Cascade Lake-X series in mind. These are the enthusiast HEDT CPU series that will be released later this month. The Core i9-10900X has been spotted at Geekbench just few days ago.

Additionally, more Z490 motherboards have been added, specifically the AORUS models. These are the top-tier motherboards in Gigabyte lineup. What is interesting is the timing of this submission to EEC. As Comet Lake-S series are not expected before early 2020. Since the Intel 400 series motherboards feature LGA1200 socket, it makes no sense to launch new motherboards unless the CPUs are launching at the same time.

Finally, the TRX40 motherboards are designed for upcoming AMD Threadripper 3000 series. This is a new naming schema for AMD HEDT platform. The TRX40 (and supposedly TRX80) will succeed existing X399 series.
