Gigabyte RTX 4060 WindForce announced with two fans

It finally happened, Gigabyte introduced its first GeForce RTX 40 graphics card that does not have a triple-fan cooling solution.

Gigabyte did not release a single dual-fan variant with the release of the GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card. All 33 RTX 40 graphics cards launched by Gigabyte thus far had three fans. The situation has not changed much with yesterday’s introduction of RTX 4060 series, as the company added another 10 models. However, for the first time, Gigabyte is releasing a dual-fan Ada Lovelace GPU.

We all had a moment of shock when Gigabyte released its RTX 4090 AORUS, a graphics card so big it could fit four Mini-ITX cards inside. But this was a sign that the company’s philosophy has changed. Since dual-GPU configurations are now a thing of a past, Gigabyte has no trouble releasing even bigger and more overengineered designs. We actually got to the point where 115W still get three fans.

Luckily, Gigabyte finally decided to take advantage of the low TDP of RTX 4060 series. The RTX 4060 WindForce OC is the company’s first custom design for the Ada series with two fans. All RTX 4060 cards announced yesterday are pictured below:

Gigabyte’s WindForce OC card measures only 19.2 x 12.0 x 4.1 cm, so definitely not as small as competing products. We had several Mini-ITX designs finally revealed by multiple brands, but Gigabyte was not one of them.

Since this card is based on RTX 4060 SKU, the full specs are not confirmed yet. Gigabyte only lists the 3072 CUDA core spec, 8GB 128-bit VRAM and the card size, but details like clock speeds were not shared yet. As a reminder, RTX 4060 launches in July, so Gigabyte still has a lot of time to finalize the specs.
