Gigabyte preps Radeon RX 6600 non-XT
We have one of the first renders of the upcoming Radeon SKU.
The rumors about Radeon RX 6600 non-XT launch appear to be true. We have learned that Gigabyte is preparing a new mid-range model based on a cut-down Navi 23 GPU, thus we immediately reached out to our source for material to share.
The card is nearly identical to the RX 6600 XT which only launched a month ago. AMD is supposedly not stopping at a single Navi 23 model, as the company prepares to launch a non-XT version with fewer cores and hopefully a more reasonable price tag.
Gigabyte RX 6600 features 8GB memory, this confirms that AMD is not launching any 6GB or 4GB models any time soon. However, the exact specifications aren’t known yet. The card supposedly features Navi 23 XL GPU with 1792 Stream Processors, just as many as Radeon Pro W6600. According to the packaging, it is targeting 1080p gaming.
Just recently Igor Wallossek made a simulation featuring a Radeon Pro variant with the same core configuration as the rumored RX 6600 non-XT. He concluded that RX 6600 might be slower than GeForce RTX 3060, suggesting it should cost less. Whether that is going to happen, we don’t know yet.
The card features an identical design to RX 6600 XT EAGLE, but there are changes to the PCB layout and the heatsink. The board is slightly shorter but still features a single 8-pin power connector.

The card is set to compete with GeForce RTX 3050 desktop series, which have still not been released by NVIDIA, despite introducing the series and GA107 GPU for the mobile market in the second quarter. The latest rumors on the release date put RX 6600 non-XT at the end of September, possibly early October. This was revealed by Coreteks back in July.
