New RTX 4080 designs

Gigabyte is preparing two more cards based on RTX 4080 SKU.

A follow-up to our report on RTX 4080 EAGLE. We now have another two designs that were not seen before. Meet AORUS Xtreme WaterForce WB and brand-new series called AERO featuring a white color scheme.

The AORUS Xtreme WF WB card is an entirely new design, equipped with a preinstalled water block. This card is, in fact, the first RTX 40 model featuring this type of liquid cooling. According to the leaks, Gigabyte will also introduce WF WB model to the RTX 4090 SKU, but why is RTX 4080 getting a priority here – we do not know. What is certain, this card is likely to share the PCB design with Xtreme Waterforce (the one with All-In-One cooler), however the latter has not been pictured yet.

This RTX 4080 features standard display output configuration with dual-slot I/O bracket. It also comes with one 16-pin power connector, so in that sense there is nothing “Extreme” about this model.

We also get a first look at Gigabyte’s new series called AERO. This name should ring a bell to Gigabyte fans because the company already has an AERO series of laptops for content creators. The launch of this model likely means the end of the Vision series. The name is also borrowed from MSI, who used to have their ‘Aero’ cards with cheap blower type coolers.

The AERO RTX 4080 is a thick 3.5-slot design, just like any air-cooled RTX 40 Gigabyte launched thus far. This is, in fact, a fifth model equipped with three fans and there is still no sign of any dual-fan model. However, what is likely happening here is Gigabyte making one cooler for both RTX 4090 and 4080 16GB cards, so maybe expect RTX 4090 AERO later.
