Gigabyte planning plethora of DDR5 and DDR4 motherboards
A fresh leak from the Eurasian Economic Commission regulatory office confirms Gigabyte is actually planning more DDR5-based motherboards than DDR4.
The transition to DDR5 memory may not be as problematic as previously thought. While it is true that OEMs will be focusing on DDR5 memory when it comes to their flagship models, many designs will be offered with DDR4 support as well. Those who are not yet ready to jump onto the DDR5 memory hype-wagon will certainly find a motherboard that supports the existing standard.
Gigabyte will be rolling out its AORUS XTREME series, including a version with a monoblock, exclusively with DDR5 memory. Models such as Master or Tachyon (for extreme overclocking) will also be DDR5 exclusive. However, AORUS Elite, Pro, and Ultra will all be available with a DDR4 interface. There is also a new model called Aorus Elite Stealth, which may borrow the stealthy, full-black design from the MSI Unifi-X series.
The content-creator-oriented AERO series are also coming, Aero G and D models are planned according to the EEC filing. There are not many ‘Gaming’ boards on the list, as Gigabyte actively shifts its entire portfolio towards the AORUS series.

What is apparent at this point is that there is no sign of H670, B660, and H610 motherboards yet. Those were previously expected to launch in early 2022 and their lack in EEC filings appears to confirm just that. Some Gigabyte Z690 boards have even been listed by Australian retailers, suggesting that the launch is approaching quickly.
