Gigabyte makes custom Radeon RX 6800 series official
AMD today lifted the embargo on custom Radeon RX 6800 graphics cards. Some brands have waited with the unveiling till they were allowed to list the full specs alongside the renders or photos, one of such brands was Gigabyte.
The manufacturer officially introduced its AORUS Master and GAMING OC series based on both RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 SKUs from AMD. The cards feature a 3-slot WindForce 3X cooler design with a triple-fan setup. Both models feature dual 8-pin power connectors. The Gigabyte RX 6800 custom series have been equipped with the dual-BIOS feature, they also ship with full cover backplates.
The AORUS Master series has been revealed in two variants, one featuring the new USB Type-C connector and the other focusing on dual DisplayPort + dual HDMI configuration. The AORUS series also comes with a cool monitoring OLED screen.
When it comes to clock speeds, Gigabyte did not reveal them for the AORUS Master series, but we do have Gaming OC frequencies. The RX 6800XT has been set to 2045 MHz and 2285 MHz for the GPU game and boost respectively. The non-XT variant is clocked at 1925 and 2155 MHz respectively. That said, the XT variant sees a 6.1% and 2.4% increase in clock speeds, while the non-XT model gets an average 1.5% boost. One would guess that the latter has some power limitations applied because this factory overclocking is not impressive.
Gigabyte did not confirm when these cards will be available, but from the looks of it, not a single unit has shipped to retailers.
