GALAX HOF products to include high-speed DDR5 memory SSD storage

Just two days after ADATA confirmed it will showcase its next memory and storage products at CES 2023, Galax now appears to have very similar plans.

Two teasers were released revealing the plans for CES 2023. The company is to introduce DDR5-8000 memory and PCIe Gen5 SSD storage.

According to Chinese media, the HOF (Hall of Fame) branded memory is to include DDR5-8000 kit available in 2×16GB configuration. This memory would cost 5000 RMB (~716 USD). It is said that the memory might be unveiled even sooner than CES 2023, as more teasers are to appear in the coming days.

Such memory is likely to be supported mainly by Intel 700-series platform through XMP 3.0 profile. However, GALAX is not confirming at this time which platforms are supported. High-speed DDR5 memory requires good signaling and as a result such support is often limited to premium motherboards.

More importantly, GALAX is also preparing its PCIe Gen5 SSD storage based on NVMe 2.0 protocol. The SSD is likely called HOF Extreme 50, and it would offer read speed up to 12 GB/s. The render above shows this storage with a small fan, revealing that the storage will require active cooling.
