NVIDIA RTX 4090 for extreme overclocking

New images shared by NordicHardware reveal the design of the flagship GALAX GeForce RTX 4090 GPU.

The Hall of Fame series will soon get a new member, the RTX 4090 HOF which is the first known RTX 40 model to feature dual 16-pin power connectors. The card is equipped with AD102-300 GPU which confirm this is RTX 4090 with 16384 CUDA cores and 24GB of GDDR6X memory.

A quick glance confirms that the card is equipped with 28+4 phase VRM, a configuration not available with any other RTX 4090 card on the market thus far. A very similar design was used for RTX 3090 Ti HOF (24+4 VRM).

Furthermore, the top of the card shows voltage measurement points, and we can also spot the OC-button responsible for loading the LN2 BIOS. Obviously, there is no NVLink connector on this card.

GALAX RTX 4090 HOF is probably not yet ready for launch. The company usually sends bare boards to extreme overclockers for testing, while they prepare new coolers for retail launch. Those are not needed for extreme overclocking with liquid nitrogen, though.
