GALAKURO Gaming gets LHR treatment

Japanese graphics card manufacturer Kuroutoshikou has refreshed its Galakuro Gaming brand with LHR graphics card models.

It is probably worth noting that GALAX and its subsidiaries are so far the only board partners to actually follow NVIDIA guidelines to the letter. By that, we mean both: listing LHR (Lite Hash Rate) on a product page and correctly labeling the packaging of new SKUs. Board partners cannot use the same SKUs/product names for LHR models, as they offer different GPU variants with NVIDIA’s new mining hash rate limiter. Customers must know which variant they are buying, which is why NVIDIA wants the products to be easily recognized on product shelves. Unfortunately, many brands still forget to add LHR to product packaging, at least we have not seen any other brand except GALAX/KFA2/Kuroutoshiku to use them.

GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR

The RTX 3060 Ti model comes with a standard 1665 MHz boost clock. This is a dual-fan and dual-slot solution is based on NVIDIA PCB design. This means that the board is quite short and power connectors are located in a not very convenient place (right in the middle). According to 4Gamer, this SKU will go on sale in mid-June for a price of 81,400 Yen (742 USD).

The following model is based on the GALAX EX series. It is considered a higher-end SKU, which can be easily verified by a more eye-catching design, thicker cooling solution, and higher clock speed. This model is factory-overclocked to 1710 MHz, which is a subtle performance boost. It will cost 84,700 Yen (772 USD).

GeForce RTX 3080 LHR

Finally, the RTX 3080 LHR model is based on GALAX SG (1-Click) SKU. This SKU is not factory-overclocked, but thanks to its ‘innovative’ quad-fan design, it certainly has some performance uplift potential. This model features GA104-202 GPU with 8704 CUDA cores. Unlike the recently announced RTX 3080 Ti, the non-Ti variant is equipped with 10GB of GDDR6X memory across the 320-bit bus (that’s 152 GB/s lower bandwidth). This GALAKURO Gaming model will retail at 140,800 Yen which converts to 1,284 USD, an 84% increase over NVIDIA MSRP.
