GALAX RTX 3080 clearance sale at original MSRP
Two and half years after launch, GALAX is finally offering RTX 3080 at MSRP.
Sadly to say, this might still be a good deal, at least for this model. The RTX 3080 GPU which had its debut in September 2020, is still hard to find at $699 MSRP. The LHR model is a bit newer, but this is essentially the same card with some anti-mining features.
GALAX has just announced a clearance sale where they offer a custom GeForce RTX 3080 Serious Gaming model with 10GB VRAM at $699.99. A quick check confirms that despite this matching the original MSRP from 2020, this should still be a good deal, considering RTX 3080 can now be found for much more.
The RTX 3080 is running low on stock, with Newegg offering mostly refurbished or open box items with anything that matches MSRP. The cheapest brand-new RTX 3080 now costs $899 on Newegg or $1059 on Amazon. That said, $699 for RTX 3080 even 2 years later might still be considered at this price. However, Radeon RX 7900 XT should still be a much better choice despite costing $100 more. That’s 20% higher performance, access to twice the memory size and brand-new architecture.

The RTX 3080 SG is a full custom design with 3-slot design and up to 4 fan design. The fourth fan is optionally attached to the backplate. This unique design has its pros and cons, but given that modern systems no longer promote dual-GPU configurations there is not much of reason not to use this fan.
