When it comes to mobile gaming, it’s always a compromise between screen resolution and screen refresh rate.  A high fidelity gaming requires a 4K displays, but those are always locked to 60 Hz. Barely any graphics card can provide a smooth 4K gaming experience, hence most users end up with 1080p displays instead.

The current generation of gaming notebooks has brought refresh rates up to 300 Hz, but that’s still 1080p resolution. A new solution might have just been revealed by Eluktronics, who announced their (and world’s) first QHD laptops. The manufacturer will offer both 15-inch and 17-inch laptops with the new 2560x1440p (QHD) resolution with a refresh rate of 165 Hz.

Three laptops will be available with such displays: Mech-15 G3 QHD, Max-15 HQD, and Max7-17 QHD. They are based on Intel platform with up to Core i7-10870H processor. Interestingly the GPU options are limited to RTX 2070 SUPER mobile (no RTX 2080 option). These laptops will cost from 2,199 USD to 2,299 USD depending on the screen size (17-inch is more expensive).

The manufacturer guarantees that the laptops will be shipped before Christmas, but the exact dates are not provided.
