EKWB already developing water cooling solutions for AMD new ecosystem

Frank Azor, AMD’s Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions, announced yesterday that AMD has been working closely with its partners to deliver compatible holistic cooling solutions for the upcoming next-generation AMD ecosystem. The manufacturer showcased first water cooling solutions with a streamlined design for the Ryzen 5000 series and Radeon RX 6000 ecosystem.

AMD will be releasing both Zen3 CPUs and RDNA2 GPUs within the same month. The ecosystem featuring both architectures will benefit from technologies such as AMD Smart Access Memory – a technology that will allow the Ryzen 5000 series processor to access all of Radeon RX 6000 series graphics card memory.

All three Navi 21 graphics cards announced yesterday will feature similar board design, thus, any 3rd party cooling solution that will fit one model should also fit the rest. That said, the EK water block pictured below should be compatible with Radeon RX 6900XT (300W), RX 6800XT (300W), and RX 6800 (250W).

EK has not yet confirmed when the new products will be available. AMD Ryzen 5000 series launch on November 5th, while Radeon RX 6000 is officially coming November 18th.
