Cyberpunk 2077 now supports DLSS3

NVIDIA DLSS 3 with Frame Generation technology is now available in Cyberpunk 2077.

It took nearly 3 months for CD Projekt and NVIDIA to enable DLSS3 in Cyberpunk 2077. The game has just received a patch that finally enables the upscaling technology.

A 6GB patch has just been released on supported PC platforms and gamers can now enable DLSS3 as long as they use RTX 4090, 4080 or 4070 Ti GPU. The DLSS3 uses Frame Generation technology which is only supported on NVIDIA’s Ada Architecture.

Most RTX 4090 reviewers were using a pre-release version of the game to showcase the benefits of DLSS3 in such a demanding title. However, probably no one expected it would take so much time for the technology to be added to the game.

Recently, NVIDIA announced DLSS3 support for 6 new games, which are all to be updated within the next few weeks: Dying Light 2 Stay Human, HITMAN 3, Dakar Desert Rally, Deliver Us Mars, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and PERISH. Furthermore, NVIDIA confirms that DLSS3 will also be added to games such as Atomic Heart, ILL SPACE, THRONE AND LIBERTY, The Day Before, Tower of Fantasy, Warhaven, and Witchfire.

In total, NVIDIA has 50 games and apps confirmed to support DLSS3 at some point and over 250 games with DLSS2 support. However, the DLSS3 enablement is definitely slower than many would have expected, and Cyberpunk 2077 is a good example of how complicated it may be.

Just be aware that NVIDIA software team confirms that the game may not start after the update. This could be a result of installed mods, so make sure to disable them beforehand.
